Best For: Versatility
You don’t become the best-selling minivan in North America by accident. The Dodge Grand Caravan is, in many ways, the baseline by which other minivans get measured. It may not stand-out in a particular area, but it doesn’t tend to come up short anywhere either. It’s flexible, and the engine has some nice kick to it, with more recent models years offer plenty of features. Best of all, when it comes to overall affordability, you won’t find better value in a minivan.
Best For: Safety
When it comes to safety, the Honda Odyssey has you covered—it gets reliably great safety ratings year after year. It’s no surprise, either, as many safety features now seen standard in other brands were standard in the Odyssey as far back as 1999! Speaking of standard features, the Odyssey is packed with them, so you may end up with more bells and whistles than you might with another brand. Throw in the kind of handling you’d expect in a sedan, and you can see why this minivan made our list.
Best For: Value
When it comes to a solid, middle-of-the-road minivan, the Kia Sedona is a good choice. Great safety ratings, plenty of standard features, a roomy interior, and a decently powerful engine. Nothing too flashy, but generally speaking, you’re probably not buying a minivan for the luxury. The Sedona is a reliable workhorse, and if you’re looking to get a used minivan without breaking the bank, it’d be hard to find a better bang for your buck.
Best For: Reliability
The Toyota Sienna is the total package minivan, offering reliability across the board in models going back over a decade. The Sienna is the only minivan on the market with available all-wheel drive, for added traction, and it’s known for offering a smooth, quiet ride. It’s also one of the most consistently safe minivans on the market, so if you want to keep yourself and your precious cargo secure, the Sienna is a good bet.
